Overview
Mac Vision Tools is designed for local, on-device computer vision on macOS. The app does not create accounts, run advertising, use analytics, track users, or sell personal information.
Camera and screen frames are processed on your Mac for live object detection, emotion classification, privacy monitoring, and focus tracking. The app does not upload those frames to a server.
Data Processed On Device
The app may process camera frames, screen frames, detected object labels, face observations, emotion labels, confidence values, and focus session state while you use the app.
This processing happens locally through Apple Vision, Core ML, AVFoundation, and ScreenCaptureKit. Frames are used for live inference and are not saved by the app.
Permissions
Camera access is used when you choose camera capture or use features that need a visible face. Screen Recording access is used only when you choose screen capture.
You can change these permissions in macOS System Settings under Privacy & Security. If a permission is disabled, the related capture mode may not work.
Custom Models
Mac Vision Tools can load user-selected Core ML model files from your Mac. Custom model paths may be stored locally so the app can reopen the selected file in future sessions.
Custom models are not uploaded by the app. You are responsible for ensuring that any model you select is lawful for your use.
Privacy Guard
Privacy Guard counts visible people locally and starts the macOS screen saver when your configured threshold is reached.
macOS controls whether the screen saver locks the Mac. To require a password, enable the macOS setting to require a password immediately after the screen saver begins.
Third Parties
The app includes bundled model and framework notices in the in-app Notices view and in the repository credits. The app itself does not send app usage data to those model providers.
Apple may process information related to App Store downloads, purchases, crash reports, or diagnostics according to Apple's own policies and your device settings.
Children
Mac Vision Tools is a general-purpose macOS utility. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
